The North East already attracts the British National Surfing
Championships and international surfers from around the world. It
provides safe surfing conditions – ideal for 1st timers – and also a
place for experienced surfers to fine-tune their skills on new waves.
Our Surf School offers surfing tuition from British Surfing Association
(B.S.A.) qualified instructors who are also fully trained beach
lifeguards. We utilise good quality, safe and appropriate equipment,
from Xcel wetsuits, Swell foam surfboards and Ocean & Earth leashes in
order to make your surfing experience a "on(c)e to remember".
All lessons take place at the Sand Haven Beach on the South Shields coastline. Each lesson is structured to suit various ability levels from the novice through to the improver or intermediate.

Please note, surfing lessons will only take place each day if there are at least four students taking part. If your party is three or less, call some friends to increase your numbers! Alternatively, give us a call - it is likely that we will have other residents at the hotel taking a lesson on your preferred date to complement your numbers. Or, if price isn't an issue, we can proceed with lessons for smaller bookings, however, there will be an additional cost per person. One-on-one lessons also available. Call us for a quote.
