Once upon a Tyne is close to many national cycle routes making us the perfect choice for your group bookings. We make mountain biking fun by choosing the best off-road or country road routes and adding a downhill direction where possible! We have different routes and grades to suit your group:-

Option 1 - Downhill all the way! - A fast downhill route from Ebchester to either Newcastle’s famous Quayside or back to South Shields on the final stage of the Sea to Sea national cycleway. A great way to blow away a hangover!

Stop for lunch on Newcastle’s Quayside then cycle on to South Shields or take the easy option and hitch a ride back to South Shields with us.

Option 2 – The Northumberland Coast. The best of the National Coast and Castles Cycle Route 1 from Creswell via the rolling dunes of Druridge Bay to Lower Newton By the Sea – a beautiful inlet with a National Trust pub on the beach! This is a spectacular trail, but more challenging then our “Downhill all the Way” - we can’t promise it is all downhill!

Stop for lunch in the popular coastal town of Amble mid-way through your journey.

Option 3 – The BIG CLIMB! Cycle from Langwatheby to Allenheads. This is by far the most challenging and rewarding section of the Sea to Sea route over the Pennines, including the infamous Hartside Pass. This is a ride you will never forget!

Stop at the scenic Hartside Café at the top of ride for refreshments.

Option 4 – Mountain Biking. We can transport you to and from some excellent and popular woodland or forest trails in the area - 1/2 and full day packages available.

Contact us for prices and availability.
